| Special Events/Parks&Rec Start Date: 3/3/2012 End Date: 3/4/2012 Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is celebrating its 42st anniversary in downtown Tampa on March 3rd and 4th, 2012. Returning to its roots alongside the Hillsborough River, the free festival will take place in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, just outside of the newly constructed Tampa Museum of Art. Considered one of Florida’s premier cultural events, the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts ranks among the leading juried arts festivals nationwide that feature both fine arts and crafts. Nearly 300 accomplished artists representing 13 different media disciplines are selected from more than 1,000 applicants to exhibit their original works in this celebrated two-day show. Attendees enjoy the free festival, filled with outstanding art from renowned and emerging artists, exceptional live music and creative children’s activities.
